How to add a widget to your site

  1. Pick the calculator, the theme and, for money widgets, the currency (the GST widget takes a country, which sets the tax and currency).
  2. Press Copy to copy the embed code.
  3. Paste it where the calculator should appear, in an HTML block: in WordPress, a Custom HTML block; in Blogger, the post editor's HTML view; in other site builders, their HTML or embed-code block.
  4. Preview your page. The widget fills the width of your column, up to 720 pixels, and grows or shrinks to fit its results.

The five widgets

  • EMI calculator: monthly EMI, total interest and a year-by-year repayment schedule for a home, car or personal loan. Full page: EMI Calculator.
  • GST calculator: adds GST to a price or takes it out, with the CGST and SGST or IGST split for India, and GST or VAT for Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Canada, the UK and the UAE. Full page: GST Calculator.
  • SIP calculator: how a monthly investment could grow, with an optional yearly step-up and inflation. Full page: SIP Calculator.
  • Age calculator: exact age in years, months and days from a date of birth, and the next birthday. Full page: Age Calculator by Date of Birth.
  • BMI calculator: body mass index in metric, US or UK units, on the WHO or the Asian cut-offs. Full page: BMI Calculator.

Each widget is the same calculator as the full page, without our menus, footer or ads. A small “Powered by Palz Tools” link inside it opens the full page in a new tab, with the formula, a worked example and answers to common questions. The code also puts one line under the widget on your own page, “Calculator by Palz Tools”, linking to the same full page. That link has rel="nofollow": it is a plain credit, not a link meant to pass search ranking. Please keep both visible; you can restyle the line to suit your site. The few rules for using the widgets are in our terms.

Example: a dark EMI calculator in rupees

With EMI, Dark and INR picked above, the builder gives this code. The first line is the calculator itself, in an iframe; the second is the credit line; the script after them lets the iframe fit the calculator's height, and accepts height messages only from tools.palz.co.in.

<iframe src="https://tools.palz.co.in/embed/emi-calculator/?theme=dark&amp;currency=INR" title="EMI Calculator (Palz Tools)" loading="lazy" style="display:block;width:100%;max-width:720px;height:840px;border:1px solid rgba(128,128,128,.35);border-radius:12px"></iframe>
<p style="margin:6px 0 0;font-size:13px">Calculator by <a href="https://tools.palz.co.in/tools/emi-calculator/" rel="nofollow">Palz Tools</a></p>
<script>(function(){if(window.palzEmbed)return;window.palzEmbed=1;window.addEventListener("message",function(e){var d=e.data,f=document.getElementsByTagName("iframe"),i;if(e.origin!=="https://tools.palz.co.in"||!d||d.type!=="palz-embed"||typeof d.height!=="number"||!isFinite(d.height))return;for(i=0;i<f.length;i++)if(f[i].contentWindow===e.source)f[i].style.height=Math.max(200,Math.min(6000,Math.ceil(d.height)))+"px"})})();</script>

It opens with our example loan, ₹25,00,000 at 8.5% for 20 years. To start it at ₹12,00,000 at 9% for 10 years instead, add &amount=1200000&rate=9&years=10 to the end of the link in src: the widget then opens with a monthly EMI of ₹15,201.

Frequently asked questions

Is the calculator widget really free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no key and no fee. Copy the code, paste it into your page, and the calculator works for your readers straight away.

Does the widget collect my visitors' data?

The sums run in your visitor's browser, so the numbers they type are not sent to us or to anyone else. The widget shows no ads and runs no tracking scripts: its security policy lets only our own code run. Like any web page, it is loaded from our host, Cloudflare.

Will it slow down my page?

The code loads the widget lazily, so the browser fetches it only when a reader scrolls near it, and it loads in its own frame, separate from your page. Nothing in it blocks your own text and images from showing first.

Can I set the starting numbers?

Yes, for three of them: add them to the end of the link in the code. The EMI widget takes the loan, rate and years, as in &amount=1200000&rate=9&years=10. The GST widget takes the amount, the rate and whether to add or remove the tax: &amount=5900&rate=18&mode=remove takes 18% out of 5,900, which is 5,000 plus 900 tax. The BMI widget takes height in centimetres and weight in kilograms, as in &height=165&weight=60, and shows them in feet and pounds (or stones) if you picked US or UK units. Readers can still change every number.

Why doesn't the widget fit its height on my site?

The few lines of script after the iframe set its height. Some editors remove scripts from posts; the widget then keeps its starting height and scrolls inside. Paste the code into an HTML block that keeps scripts, or make the height in the style attribute larger.
