Merge PDF

Combine several PDFs into a single file, in the order you choose, privately in your browser.

How to merge PDFs

  1. Choose two or more PDF files. You can add more in several goes.
  2. Put them in order with the arrow buttons, and remove any you added by mistake.
  3. Click Merge and download merged.pdf.

What happens to your files

Every page is copied as it is into one new document: text stays selectable, scans keep their resolution and nothing is re-compressed. That's why the merged file is roughly the size of the originals added together. Your original PDFs are not changed.

Example: one file for an application

Say a form asks for a single PDF with the application (3 pages), a copy of your ID (1 page) and six months of bank statements (6 pages). Add the three files, move them into that order, and merge: you get a 10-page PDF with the pages in exactly that sequence.

Tips

  • If the portal has a size limit, merge first, then use Compress PDF to size on the result.
  • Photos of documents? Turn them into a PDF with Image to PDF, then merge.
  • To drop a blank page or fix one sideways scan after merging, use Organize PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Are my PDFs uploaded?

No. Merging runs in your browser with the open-source pdf-lib library, so ID proofs, bank statements and certificates never leave your device.

Can I change the order?

Yes. Use the ↑ and ↓ buttons to reorder files before merging. Pages inside each file keep their order; to reorder single pages, merge first and then use Organize PDF.

Do bookmarks and form fields survive?

Filled-in answers stay visible, but the fields are no longer fillable and bookmarks are dropped, because pages are copied into a new file. Finish filling in forms first.

Why does a file fail to load?

Password-protected PDFs can't be merged until the password is removed. Very old or damaged PDFs may also fail; try opening them and using Print → Save as PDF to make a clean copy.

Is there a limit?

Up to 50 files, each up to 100 MB. Very large merges depend on your device's memory, so on a phone keep the total to a few hundred pages.
