Check stereo channels and sound quality of your speakers or headphones in seconds.
Turn your volume down a little first. Each button plays a short tone.
Ready
How to use it
Lower your volume a little.
Press Left, Right and Both, and check each tone comes from the right place.
Pick a tone (100 Hz for bass, 8 kHz for treble) or play the full sweep.
What problems it finds
Swapped channels: left sound from the right speaker.
One side dead: a broken cable or earbud usually shows up as silence on one side.
Rattling or buzzing at the 100 Hz tone points to a loose or damaged speaker.
Tones are generated in your browser; nothing is downloaded or uploaded.
Frequently asked questions
How do I check if my headphones are on the right way?
Press Left: the tone should come only from your left ear. If it comes from the right, the headphones are reversed or the channels are swapped in your settings.
What does the frequency sweep show?
It glides from 40 Hz (deep bass) to 15 kHz (high treble). Small laptop speakers usually can't play the lowest part, and many adults don't hear the top end; both are normal.
Why is there no sound?
Check the volume, the output device in your system settings, and that the browser tab isn't muted. Some browsers only play sound after you click on the page, which the buttons do.
