How to convert text to PDF

  1. Type or paste your text, or open a .txt, .md or .csv file.
  2. Pick a font size (8โ€“24 pt) and a page size, A4 or US Letter.
  3. Click Create PDF. Long lines wrap automatically and new pages are added as needed.

How the page is laid out

Text is set in Helvetica with a margin of about 20 mm on every side and comfortable line spacing (1.4 times the font size). Each line break in your text starts a new line, so a blank line gives a gap between paragraphs. Words are never split; a line breaks at the last space that fits.

Example

At the default 11 pt on A4, each page holds about 48 lines of text, roughly a page of a typed letter. A 3,000-word text file becomes about four to five pages, depending on how many short lines it has.

Good for

  • Turning notes, logs or a letter drafted in a plain editor into a file you can email or print.
  • Making a quick PDF of a CSV or Markdown file to attach to a report.

The font covers English letters, numbers and common symbols; other characters appear as "?", and the tool warns you when your text contains them. To add the PDF to others, use Merge PDF.
