URL Encoder / Decoder
Make text safe for URLs, or turn %20-style encoded links back into readable text.
Two encoding modes
- Everything: encodes all special characters (
& = ? / #). Use it for individual query-string values. - Keep URL structure: leaves
: / ? & = intact. Use it to clean up a whole link with spaces or Hindi text.
Example
a b&c=₹ → a%20b%26c%3D%E2%82%B9
Frequently asked questions
Why is a space %20 or +?
In URLs a space is %20. In HTML form data it is often written as +. The decoder treats both as spaces.
What does %E2%82%B9 mean?
It is the UTF-8 encoding of the ₹ symbol. Non-English characters take several bytes.
Why do I get a 'malformed' error?
A % sign isn't followed by valid hex digits, or a multi-byte character was cut off.
