Why doesn't my WhatsApp link open a chat?
Usually the number: a leading 0 (a trunk prefix used for local calls) or a missing country code. Use the full international number, like 44 7700 900123 rather than 07700 900123. The number must also have a WhatsApp account.
Can I make a link without a phone number?
Yes. Leave the number empty and enter a message: https://wa.me/?text=Have%20a%20look%20at%20this%20shop lets the person choose who to send it to, which is handy for sharing.
