Other: percent (%), factorial (!), remainder (type mod), absolute value (abs), π, e, Ans (last result)
Examples
2 × sin(30) + √16 = 5 (degrees)
log(1000) + ln(e) = 4
5! = 120, and 2^10 = 1024
1500 + 18% = 1770 (a price plus 18% tax)
Results that should be exactly zero, like sin(180°), are shown as 0 instead of a tiny rounding error. Impossible operations, such as dividing by zero or the square root of a negative number, show a clear message.
Frequently asked questions
How do I switch between degrees and radians?
Use the Angles switch above the display. In degrees, sin(30) = 0.5; in radians, use sin(π/6).
What does log mean here?
log is base 10 (log(1000) = 3) and ln is the natural logarithm, base e (ln(e) = 1).
In what order are operations done?
Brackets first, then powers (right to left, so 2^3^2 = 2^9 = 512), then multiplication, division and mod, then addition and subtraction. A minus sign applies after the power: −2^2 = −4.
How does the % key work?
Like a phone calculator. 50% is 0.5. After + or −, the percentage is taken of the number before it: 200 + 10% = 220 and 200 − 10% = 180. After × or ÷ it's the plain fraction: 200 × 10% = 20. For the remainder of a division, type mod: 17 mod 5 = 2.
Can I type instead of tapping?
Yes. Type expressions such as 2*sin(30)+sqrt(16) and press Enter. You can also write 2π or 3(4+5); the multiplication is implied.
