State TET Photo Resizer (MAHATET, KARTET, TNTET)

Make your TET photo and signature for MAHATET, KARTET or TNTET, each to its own notification's KB limits, plus MAHATET's handwritten self-declaration. No TET here sets a pixel size, so your crop is kept. Nothing is uploaded.

Which TET?

Maharashtra: photo and signature 17–51 KB, plus the handwritten self-declaration with your left thumb impression.

Rules as per the MAHATET June 2026 Instructions (MSCE Pune), page 5, from the web archive copy of 18 April 2026 (read on 8 October 2026); check the latest notice before you apply. Open the official notice ↗

What MAHATET asks for

MSCE's instructions for MAHATET are in Marathi. In English, the lines below say: prepare and upload your photograph, and your signature, in .jpg format in a file size of 17–51 KB; and prepare the handwritten copy of the self-declaration in .jpg format in a file size of 17–500 KB. The how-to guide's screenshot of the upload page shows the same sizes in English. Nothing else is set: no pixel or cm size, DPI, background or ink colour.

Name and date on the photo: Not asked for: no MAHATET document mentions a name or date on the photo.

Signature: the notice's words

“उमेदवाराने आपली स्वाक्षरी (Signature) .jpg फॉरमॅटमध्ये, 17kb ते 51kb या फाइल साईजमध्ये तयार करून अपलोड करावी.”

“File Size needed between 17 kb to 51 kb. Only .jpg format document will be acceptable for upload.”

How to use the state TET resizer

  1. Pick your TET above. Choose your photo for card 1 and a picture of your signature for card 2; for MAHATET, also a photo or scan of your signed self-declaration page for card 3.
  2. Zoom and drag to centre your face and fill the frame. For the signature and the declaration, tap Whiten the paper if the paper looks grey, and Turn 90° if the page is sideways.
  3. When each checklist is green, download the files: for MAHATET, 17–51 KB for the photo and signature and 17–500 KB for the declaration; for KARTET or TNTET, the sizes shown on each card.

Example: a phone photo through the MAHATET resizer

  • Photograph: a 6-megapixel phone photo, 2,160 × 2,880 px, opens as a 1,800 × 2,400 px copy; with no shape set, the frame is the whole 1,800 × 2,400 px, kept at 1,800 × 2,400 px. The JPEG is 17,408 to 51,000 bytes (17–51 KB), named mahatet-photo-1800x2400.jpg. Over the limit even at 60% quality, it would get fewer pixels, same shape.

The JPEG quality it lands on depends on the picture itself.

Writing the MAHATET self-declaration

MAHATET asks for a handwritten self-declaration (हमीपत्र), not a typed one. The form shows the text: copy it by hand onto a blank A4 sheet, sign below it, and press your left-hand thumb impression under the signature. That one page carries your declaration, signature and thumb impression together, and it is uploaded as one .jpg in the Self-Declaration Upload tab.

Photograph or scan the whole sheet straight on, in daylight, so the writing and the thumb ridges are sharp. Card 3 keeps the page's shape (A4 is tall and narrow), draws it at up to 2,400 px on the long side and saves it at the highest quality that fits 17–500 KB. One callout in the how-to guide says .pdf for this upload, but the Instructions and the portal screenshot both say .jpg, which is what the tool makes.

MAHATET 2026: the postponed exam

Applications for MAHATET June 2026 ran from 27 March to 16 April 2026. On 27 June 2026 MSCE postponed the exam set for 28 June after a suspected question-paper leak, and its notice that day said no new date had been announced. The upload sizes come from the June 2026 instructions and match the 2025 ones. Because mahatet.in wasn't reachable on 8 October 2026, we read MSCE's PDFs from web archive copies of their official addresses. If MSCE issues a fresh notification, check its upload section before you use these files. At the exam centre, MSCE matches you against your application by biometrics and face recognition, so upload a real, unedited photo of yourself.

KARTET and TNTET rules

KARTET (Karnataka)

The KARTET-2025 notification is a scanned PDF in Kannada. The line quoted below says, in English: the photograph not exceeding 50KB and the signature, made in black ink, not exceeding 40KB. The same item asks for a passport-size photo in a front-facing pose. No file format is named; the tool makes JPG, so check on the KARTET form that it takes JPG before you upload.

“ಭಾವಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು 50KB ಗೆ ಮೀರದಂತೆ ಹಾಗೂ ಕಪ್ಪು ಶಾಹಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡಿರುವ ಸಹಿಯನ್ನು 40KB ಗೆ ಮೀರದಂತೆ”

What the notice says gets an upload refused:

  • If your photo, signature and name don't match, you won't be allowed to write the exam (section 5, item 5).

Check before you apply:

  • These are the KARTET-2025 rules. Look for a KARTET 2026 notification before you apply and check its upload line.
  • The notification is a scanned Kannada PDF: the sizes were read from its page images, not from machine text.
  • It states no minimum size, file format or pixel size. The 30/10/2025 corrigendum changes only Paper-1 eligibility.

These rules are as per the KARTET-2025 notification (Kannada), section 5 item 4 dated 18 October 2025; check the latest notice before you apply. Sources, read on 8 October 2026: KARTET-2025 notification (Kannada), section 5 item 4 (dated 18 October 2025); KARTET-2025 corrigendum (Paper-1 eligibility only) (dated 30 October 2025). We will check them again by 31 December 2026.

TNTET 2025 (Tamil Nadu, general)

The Teachers Recruitment Board's general TNTET 2025 notification gives a size range for each file: photo 20–60 KB, signature 10–30 KB, as Jpg, Jpeg or Png, uploaded separately. Both ranges have a minimum, so a small, plain signature is padded up to it.

UploadPixelsFile sizeFormatBackground
PhotographNot set20–60 KBJpg/Jpeg/PngNot stated
SignatureNot set10–30 KBJpg/Jpeg/PngNot stated

“Candidates should keep ready their scanned recent color passport size photograph (Jpg/Jpeg/Png format of size 20-60 kb) and signature (Jpg/Jpeg/Png format of size 10-30 KB) separately.”

What the notice says gets an upload refused:

  • Applications without a photo or signature are summarily rejected.

Check before you apply:

  • This is the general TNTET 2025 (Notification 03/2025). TNTET for Working Teachers 2026 has different sizes: choose it above if you are a serving teacher, and don't mix the two.
  • No TNTET notification states a pixel or cm size, background, thumb impression, declaration or live photo.

These rules are as per the TRB Tamil Nadu Notification No. 03/2025 (TNTET 2025), clause 6(iii) dated 11 August 2025; check the latest notice before you apply. We will check them again by 31 December 2026.

TNTET for Working Teachers 2026 (Tamil Nadu)

This notification is only for teachers already in service, and its ranges are narrower and higher than the general TNTET's: photo 40–60 KB, signature 20–40 KB. A file made for one TNTET may fail the other, so make each with its own option above.

UploadPixelsFile sizeFormatBackground

“Candidates should upload their recent passport size colour photograph (Jpg/Jpeg/Png format of size 40-60 KB) and signature (Jpg/Jpeg/Png format of size 20-40 KB) separately.”

What the notice says gets an upload refused:

  • The notification's upload line gives only the format and the size range for the photo and signature; it lists no other reasons for refusing them.

Check before you apply:

  • This notification is only for serving teachers. Everyone else uses the general TNTET rules.
  • Certificates for this notification are PDFs of 250–300 KB; they aren't part of this tool.

These rules are as per the TRB Tamil Nadu Notification No. 01/2026 (TNTET for Working Teachers 2026) dated 13 February 2026; check the latest notice before you apply. Sources, read on 8 October 2026: TRB Tamil Nadu Notification No. 01/2026 (TNTET for Working Teachers 2026) (dated 13 February 2026); TRB Tamil Nadu active notifications list (read on 8 October 2026). We will check them again by 31 December 2026.

Why MAHATET uploads get rejected

  • At the exam centre MSCE takes biometrics and runs face recognition against your application, and lets you in only if you match it (MAHATET-2025 press note).
  • MSCE screens photos against earlier MAHATET cycles for morphed photos and impersonation (MAHATET-2025 press note).
  • After you pay the fee, Edit Application no longer lets you change the photo (FAQ 2026, question 8).

How the tool reaches the KB range

None of these TETs sets a pixel size, so each file keeps your crop, drawn at up to 2,400 pixels on its longest side and saved as a JPEG at the highest quality under the maximum. If 60% quality is still too big, as it often is for a phone photo against a 51 KB limit, the pixel size is reduced, keeping your shape, and the search runs again. Where a range has a minimum (17 KB for MAHATET, 10 KB for a TNTET signature) and a clean file comes out smaller, an invisible comment is added to reach it; the picture doesn't change. Every checklist is read back from the finished file. For an exact pixel size, use the Image Resizer.

Check before you apply

  • MSCE postponed the MAHATET exam of 28 June 2026 on 27 June 2026, after a suspected question-paper leak, and a public notice the same day said no new date had been announced. Look on mscepune.in and mahatet.in for a new date or a fresh notification, and check these upload sizes again.
  • mahatet.in wasn't reachable on 8 October 2026, so we read the official PDFs from web archive copies of their mahatet.in addresses, made on 18 April 2026.
  • No MAHATET document gives a pixel or cm size, DPI or background, so the tool keeps your crop and only fits the file size. Any pixel size you see quoted for MAHATET is a suggestion, not an MSCE rule.
  • The declaration is .jpg in the Instructions and on the portal screenshot; one Marathi callout in the how-to guide says .pdf.
  • Other MAHATET uploads (identity proof and certificates as PDF) aren't part of this tool.

Frequently asked questions

What is the MAHATET photo and signature size?

Both 17–51 KB, in .jpg format only, as per MSCE's MAHATET June 2026 Instructions. No pixel or cm size, DPI or background is given, so the tool keeps your crop. The self-declaration is a separate .jpg of 17–500 KB.

How do I make the MAHATET self-declaration (हमीपत्र)?

Copy the self-declaration text shown in the form by hand onto blank A4 paper, sign below it and press your left-hand thumb impression under the signature. Take one straight, sharp photo or scan of the whole page, choose it in the self-declaration card, and download a .jpg of 17–500 KB for the Self-Declaration Upload tab. There is no separate thumb upload.

What is the KARTET photo and signature size?

The KARTET-2025 notification asks for a passport-size, front-facing photo up to 50 KB and a signature in black ink up to 40 KB. It states no minimum, file format or pixel size. Check whether a KARTET 2026 notification has come out before you apply.

What is the TNTET photo and signature size?

It depends on the notification. The general TNTET 2025 (Notification 03/2025) asks for a photo of 20–60 KB and a signature of 10–30 KB. TNTET for Working Teachers 2026 (Notification 01/2026, for serving teachers) asks for 40–60 KB and 20–40 KB. Both accept Jpg/Jpeg/Png; pick the right one above and don't mix them.

Is there a thumb impression upload for a TET?

Not as a separate file. MAHATET's left-hand thumb impression goes on the handwritten self-declaration, under your signature, and is uploaded with it. KARTET 2025 and TNTET ask for no thumb impression or declaration upload.

When is the MAHATET 2026 exam now?

MSCE postponed the exam set for 28 June 2026, on 27 June 2026, after a suspected question-paper leak, and its public notice of the same day said no new date had been announced. No new date was known on 8 October 2026. Watch mscepune.in and mahatet.in, and check the upload sizes again if a fresh notification comes out.
