MHT CET Photo & Signature Resizer

Make your MHT CET photo (a square, 100 KB–2 MB) and signature (up to 560 × 240 px) for the registration form, following the MHT-CET 2026 Information Brochure (updated on 11.04.2026) and the form's own checks. Nothing is uploaded.

Rules as per the MHT-CET 2026 Information Brochure (updated on 11.04.2026) dated 11 April 2026; check the latest notice before you apply. Open the official notice ↗

Photograph

5 × 5 cm shape, any pixel size · 100 KB–2 MB · JPG/JPEG/PNG

A recent colour photo, 2 × 2 inch (50 × 50 mm) in the brochure, against a plain light or white background, your face filling most of it.

Signature

140 × 60 to 560 × 240 px · 5 KB–2 MB · JPG/JPEG/PNG

Your own signature on plain white paper with a black or blue pen, clear and without smudges.

Runs in your browser: your photos and scans are never uploaded.

What MHT CET asks for

MHT CET has two official 2026 sources for the photo, and they disagree: the brochure (2 × 2 inch, at least 100 KB) and the registration form (3.5 × 4.5 cm, a pixel range, and a 2 MB limit in its code). The table shows what the tool aims for; under it are both sources' own lines. The signature rules come from the form alone, as the brochure has none.

Photograph: the notice's words

“The photograph should be 2-inch x 2 inch (50 mm x 50 mm) in size, in colour and should cover 80% of the photo.”

“The photograph should be Minimum 100KB to Maximum 5MB in size”

“Background should be plain light colored or white.”

“Size: 15 KB - 5 MB | Format: JPG/JPEG/PNG | 3.5 x 4.5 cm (350x450 px min, 1000x1200 px max).”

Name and date on the photo: Not asked for: neither the 2026 brochure nor the registration form mentions a name or date on the photo.

What the tool makes: your crop's own pixels, from 450 × 450 px up to 1,000 × 1,000 px (450 to 1,000 px a side, inside the form's bounds and small enough for its re-save to stay under 2 MB; our choice, not an official size). These are worked out from the notice's numbers, not stated in it.

Signature: the notice's words

“Size: 5 KB - 2 MB | Format: JPG/JPEG/PNG | 3.5 x 1.5 cm (140x60 px min, 560x240 px max).”

How to use the MHT CET resizer

  1. Choose your photo for card 1 and a picture of your signature, signed on plain white paper, for card 2.
  2. Zoom and drag until your face fills about 70% of the square, centred, with room above your hair. Tap Make the background white if the wall isn't plain and light, and Whiten the paper for the signature.
  3. When both checklists are green, download the photo (100 KB–2 MB) and the signature (5 KB–2 MB) and upload them in the form.

Example: a phone photo through the MHT CET resizer

  • Photograph: a 6-megapixel phone photo, 2,160 × 2,880 px, opens as a 1,800 × 2,400 px copy; the frame at the 5 × 5 cm shape covers 1,800 × 1,800 px, drawn smaller, at 1,000 × 1,000 px. The JPEG is 102,400 to 2,048,000 bytes (100 KB–2 MB), named mht-cet-photo-1000x1000.jpg. Over the limit even at 60% quality, it would get fewer pixels, same shape.

The JPEG quality it lands on depends on the picture itself.

Why a square photo of about 1,000 px

Neither source gives one pixel size for the photo. The brochure's 2 × 2 inch is a square, and the form's own cropper is locked to a square too, so a portrait 3.5 × 4.5 cm upload would only be cut square in the form. The tool frames the photo square from the start, so you choose what the square keeps. It keeps your crop's own pixels between 450 and 1,000 px a side: inside the form's printed bounds, and small enough that the form's full-size re-save stays under 2 MB. That range is our choice, not an official size. The form's portrait 350 × 450 to 1000 × 1200 px isn't offered, because its own square cropper contradicts it.

The square crop and the checks inside the form

The 2026 registration form makes you crop the photo to a square before it saves it; cancelling the crop removes the photo. It then saves the crop as a new JPEG and checks that file: under 15 KB or over 2 MB is refused. The signature gets its own free crop, is saved again as a JPEG and is refused under 5 KB or over 2 MB. Every photo also goes through automatic face detection, and every signature through signature detection. So frame the photo with some space around your head, make the signature large and dark, and expect to crop both again in the form.

The form also offers "CAPTURE A PHOTO INSTEAD", a front-camera picture with a face guide. It is optional; if you use it, sit facing a plain light wall in even light, as the brochure asks.

Why MHT CET uploads get rejected

  • The registration form refuses a photo under 15 KB or over 2 MB, and a signature under 5 KB or over 2 MB. It measures the file it saves after its own crop, not the file you choose.
  • Every photo goes through an automatic face check and every signature through an automatic signature check in the form.
  • Tinted or dark glasses aren't allowed in the photo (brochure).

How the tool reaches the KB range

The signature is drawn at its own pixels inside the range the form allows, at most 560 × 240 px, and saved at the highest JPEG quality under the maximum; if a very clean signature still comes out under 5 KB, an invisible comment is added to reach it. The photo is drawn as a square of 450 to 1,000 px and saved the same way. With a 2,048 KB ceiling, the 100 KB minimum is more likely to matter: a small or plain photo is saved at full quality and, if still short, padded with an invisible comment, without touching the picture. If a very large photo is over the limit even at 60% quality, its pixels are reduced. The checklist is read back from the finished file. Keep in mind that the form saves the photo again after its square crop and checks only that new file (its own minimum is 15 KB), so the padding helps with the brochure's 100 KB but doesn't carry over into the form's copy.

Check before you apply

  • Two official 2026 sources disagree. The brochure says 2 × 2 inch (50 × 50 mm) and 100 KB to 5 MB. The registration form's own text says 3.5 × 4.5 cm, 350 × 450 to 1000 × 1200 px and 15 KB to 5 MB, but its code refuses photos over 2 MB and crops every photo to a square. The tool aims for 100 KB to 2 MB, which passes both.
  • Neither source gives one pixel size for the photo. The tool frames it square (the brochure's 2 × 2 inch, and the shape the form crops to) and keeps your crop's own resolution between 450 and 1,000 px a side: that range is our choice, not an official size. A portrait 3.5 × 4.5 cm upload would only be cropped square by the form.
  • The form saves your cropped photo again as a JPEG at its full size and checks that file. Keeping the photo to about 1,000 px a side helps that file stay under 2 MB, which is why the tool stops there.
  • These are the 2026 rules: the MHT CET 2027 brochure and form weren't out on 8 October 2026. When they are, check whether the photo crop is still square, whether the photo limit is still 2 MB, and whether the signature limits are the same.
  • The form code we read is the version live on 8 October 2026; the one used during the January to March 2026 registration window may have differed.
  • Other CET Cell exams (MBA/MMS, MCA, BBA/BCA, B.Design, Agri) use the same photo text and the same form; Nursing CET and DPN/PHN CET have their own rules.

Frequently asked questions

What is the MHT CET photo size in KB?

Aim for 100 KB–2 MB. The 2026 brochure says a minimum of 100 KB and a maximum of 5 MB, but the registration form's own check refuses photos over 2 MB, and it counts the file it saves after its crop. 100 KB–2 MB passes both, so that is what this tool makes.

Should the MHT CET photo be 2 × 2 inch or 3.5 × 4.5 cm?

Both appear in official 2026 sources. The brochure says 2 inch × 2 inch (50 mm × 50 mm); the registration form's text says 3.5 × 4.5 cm with 350 × 450 to 1000 × 1200 px. In practice the form crops every photo to a square before saving it, which matches the brochure, so this tool makes a square photo, 450 to 1,000 px a side. Leave room around your head so the square doesn't cut it.

What is the MHT CET signature size?

140 × 60 to 560 × 240 px, 3.5 × 1.5 cm, and 5 KB–2 MB, from the registration form. Sign on plain white paper with a black or blue pen. This tool keeps your signature's own pixels inside that range, at most 560 × 240 px, because the form crops and re-saves the signature and refuses files under 5 KB.

How much of the MHT CET photo should my face cover?

The brochure says 80% of the photo; the registration form says 50–70%, with your ears and eyes visible. A face filling about 70% suits the form and comes close to the brochure. Show your full head from the top of the hair to the chin, centred and not tilted.

Can I take the MHT CET photo with my webcam instead?

Yes, it's optional. The 2026 form has "CAPTURE A PHOTO INSTEAD" for the front camera with a face guide, and "UPLOAD A PHOTO INSTEAD" for a file. Both go through the same face check and square crop. This tool is for the upload route.

Can I change my photo after submitting the MHT CET form?

In 2026 the CET Cell opened an edit facility (notice of 2 March 2026) that listed the photograph and signature among the fields you could change. Don't rely on one for 2027: check each file's checklist and look at it full size before you submit.
