Made in your browser; nothing is uploaded. Get each receipt signed by your landlord.

How to use it

  1. Enter your name, your landlord's name and PAN, the monthly rent and the rented address.
  2. Pick the first and last month (the current financial year is filled in for you) and how you paid.
  3. Download the PDF, print it, and get each receipt signed by your landlord.

Each receipt shows the amount in figures and words, the month, the payment mode and a signature line. For cash payments above ₹5,000 it adds a box for the revenue stamp.

Example

Rent of ₹18,000 a month from April 2026 to March 2027 by bank transfer gives 12 receipts totalling ₹2,16,000. Because yearly rent is above ₹1 lakh, the landlord's PAN is needed.

Tips for HRA claims

  • Keep bank statements or UPI records of the rent payments; they back up the receipts if asked.
  • The rent on the receipts should match what you declare to your employer.
  • Your data stays in your browser: the PDF is created on your device.

Frequently asked questions

Is landlord PAN compulsory on rent receipts?

Employers ask for the landlord's PAN when the rent you pay in a year is more than ₹1,00,000. If the landlord has no PAN, they can give a written declaration instead.

When is a revenue stamp needed?

A ₹1 revenue stamp is needed on a receipt for a cash payment above ₹5,000, signed across by the landlord. Receipts for bank transfer, UPI or cheque payments don't need one.

Do I need a receipt for every month?

Most employers accept one receipt per month (or per quarter) for the period you claim. This tool makes one receipt per month for up to 24 months.

Can I claim HRA in the new tax regime?

No. HRA exemption is available only in the old tax regime.
