Watermark PDF

Stamp a text watermark on every page, to mark drafts or protect documents you share.

How to watermark a PDF

  1. Choose your PDF.
  2. Type the watermark text (up to 60 characters), for example DRAFT or CONFIDENTIAL.
  3. Set the font size (8โ€“200 pt), opacity (5โ€“100%), angle and colour.
  4. Download the watermarked copy. Your original isn't changed.

How it looks

The text is centred on every page in bold. Diagonal runs corner to corner, so the angle follows the page shape: about 55ยฐ on an A4 page and 52ยฐ on US Letter. The default, 60 pt red at 20% opacity, is visible without hiding the content; use 10โ€“15% for documents people must read easily, and 30% or more for drafts that shouldn't be mistaken for final versions.

When to watermark

  • Mark drafts, samples and confidential reports.
  • When sharing ID copies, add a line such as "For XYZ bank KYC only, 29/09/2026" to limit misuse.
  • Brand proposals and quotations with your company name.

Text stays selectable and form fields keep working. For a proper stamp or logo image, use the image tool in the PDF editor.

Frequently asked questions

Can a watermark be removed?

A text watermark is drawn on top of each page, and someone with PDF editing software can remove it. It deters casual misuse but isn't strong protection.

Why add a purpose to ID copies?

Writing the purpose and date on ID copies you share, such as 'For ABC Bank KYC only, 30/09/2026', makes them harder to reuse for anything else.

Can I use Hindi or other scripts?

Not yet. The watermark uses a standard Latin font, so other scripts show as question marks. Use English letters and numbers.

Is the PDF uploaded?

No. Everything happens in your browser.
