Audio Speed Changer

Make sped-up or slowed versions of songs, or shorten long voice notes.

How to change audio speed

  1. Choose an audio file.
  2. Pick a preset (0.5× to 2×) or type any speed from 0.25 to 4.
  3. Choose WAV or MP3, select Change speed, preview and download.

Speed is changed like a tape or record: faster playback raises the pitch and slower playback lowers it. That is the effect used for sped-up and slowed song edits.

MP3 files are encoded with LAME (lamejs 1.2.1, licensed under the LGPL-3.0), which is loaded unmodified as a separate file. Licence and source code.

Frequently asked questions

Can I change speed without changing pitch?

Not with this tool yet. Your media player's playback-speed setting keeps pitch for listening.

Can I post sped-up songs?

Changing the speed does not change copyright. Only use music you have rights to.

Is my audio uploaded?

No.
