Frequently asked questions
Does it decide CGST+SGST or IGST automatically?
Yes. If your state and the customer's state (place of supply) are the same, tax is split equally into CGST and SGST. If they differ, it is charged as IGST.
Is my data saved or uploaded?
The PDF is created in your browser. Only your own business details are remembered on this device, so you don't retype them. Customer details and items are not stored.
What must a GST tax invoice contain?
Among other things: supplier name, address and GSTIN; a unique serial invoice number of up to 16 characters; the date; the recipient's name and address (and GSTIN if registered); place of supply; HSN/SAC; description, quantity and value; taxable value; tax rate and amounts; and a signature. This tool includes all of these fields.
Can I use this if e-invoicing applies to me?
Businesses above the e-invoicing turnover threshold must generate an IRN and QR code on the government Invoice Registration Portal. This tool doesn't do that, so use it only if e-invoicing doesn't apply to you, or as a draft.
