Formula

Percentage = total marks obtained ÷ total maximum marks × 100. Each subject's own percentage = marks ÷ that subject's maximum × 100.

Example

English 78, Maths 95, Science 88, Social Science 70 and Hindi 82 out of 100 each, plus IT 45 out of 50: total 458 out of 550 = 83.27%. The best five by percentage are Maths (95%), IT (90%), Science (88%), Hindi (82%) and English (78%), giving about 83.6%.

Tips
