Press Start to focus for 25 minutes, then take a 5-minute break; after four focus sessions comes a longer break. The lengths are adjustable and the alarm works in a background tab.
Focus
25:00
Press Start for focus · 0 pomodoros done
One round: 4 focus sessions of 25 min with 5-min breaks takes 1 h 55 min, then a 15-min long break. Space starts and pauses; the alarm sounds in a background tab while this tab stays open.
How to use the Pomodoro timer
Pick one task and press Start (or the space bar).
Work on it until the alarm; the break then starts by itself.
Rest during the break, then carry on when the next focus session starts.
After four focus sessions, take the long break. Skip or reset at any time.

Frequently asked questions
What is the Pomodoro Technique?
A way of working in short, timed bursts, created by Francesco Cirillo: 25 minutes of focused work (one "pomodoro", after the tomato-shaped kitchen timer he used), a 5-minute break, and a longer break after every four.
Can I change the 25 and 5 minutes?
Yes. Set the focus time, the short and long breaks and how many focus sessions come before the long break; the timer uses them from the next phase. Some people prefer 50 minutes of focus with 10-minute breaks.
How long is a full round of four pomodoros?
Four 25-minute sessions with three 5-minute breaks take 1 h 55 min, followed by the 15-minute long break. Eight pomodoros with the long break between the two rounds take 4 h 5 min.
Will it ring if I switch to another tab?
Yes: the alarm is scheduled on the browser's audio clock, so it sounds on time in a background tab, as long as this tab stays open and your device isn't muted. The time left also shows in the tab's title.
What happens when a session ends?
The alarm sounds and the next phase starts on its own (untick 'Start the next phase automatically' to start each one yourself). The count of finished pomodoros goes up after each focus session; skipping a focus session ends it early and still counts it.
