Convert each PDF page into a high-quality image, for sharing on WhatsApp, adding to slides or uploading to forms.
How to convert a PDF to images
Choose a PDF. All pages are selected by default.
Change the pages if you need only some, for example 1, 3-5.
Pick the quality and JPG, PNG or WebP, then click Convert to images.
Download each page; files are named after your PDF with the page number.
Which quality to choose
DPI means dots per inch, so the pixel size depends on the paper size. For an A4 page:
96 DPI: about 794 ร 1123 pixels, small files for screens and messaging.
150 DPI: about 1240 ร 1754 pixels, a good balance for most uses, including slides.
300 DPI: about 2480 ร 3508 pixels, print quality, with files several times larger.
Tips
For WhatsApp or email, 150 DPI JPG is usually plenty; 300 DPI is only worth it for printing or zooming into small print.
If an upload form needs a smaller image, run the result through the Image compressor.
Going the other way? Image to PDF turns images back into a PDF.
Frequently asked questions
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. Pages are rendered on your device by pdf.js, the PDF engine Firefox uses.
JPG or PNG?
JPG gives smaller files for photos and scans. PNG keeps text, charts and line drawings perfectly sharp but files are larger.
How do I convert a PDF to PNG or WebP?
Choose PNG or WebP as the format before converting. Each page becomes its own image file. WebP files are usually smaller than JPG at a similar look; Safari can't save WebP, so there the pages are saved as PNG.
How many pages can I convert?
Up to 200 pages in one go. Pick a range such as 1-50 for very long documents, then do the next part.
Can I convert a password-protected PDF?
Not without the password. Remove the protection first.
